Ah. That seems entirely unnecessary and probably annoying the way it would cast shadows over the glow of your headlights.

A lot of ‘50s concept cars took inspiration from the contemporary h ot rod and custom scene, particularly active in California. Headlight covers similar to that were a pretty common accessory with hot rodders at the time.
